About Mary River Mine
One of the northernmost mines in the world on Baffin Island. The ore is so pure it ships without processing. A 100 km railway crosses tundra to a private port. Ships can only dock during a short ice free season. One of the richest iron deposits on the planet. Work continues through polar night and extreme cold.
