About MineDB

A database of 115 mines, quarries, and mining sites worldwide spanning from ancient salt mines to modern super-pits.

Each mine page lists the country and region, the year mining began, the size or depth of the workings and the main mineral produced, followed by a short history covering output, records and disasters. Search by mine name, country or mineral, or start from the record-breaking mines on the home page. Depths and outputs change as mines expand, so figures are approximate.
