About Letseng Mine
The highest diamond mine in the world at 3,100 m altitude. Produces the highest average price per carat of any mine on Earth. Famous for large, top white diamonds and rare blues. The 603 carat Lesotho Promise was recovered here in 2006. Snow and thin air complicate mining. Owned by Gem Diamonds with the Lesotho government.
