The largest copper mine in Africa by output. Opened in 2005 near Solwezi in Zambia. Produces well over 100,000 tonnes of copper per year. Also recovers gold as a byproduct. A smelter on site processes concentrate from across the region. Part of a new generation of Zambian copper projects.
