About Greenbushes Mine

The largest hard rock lithium mine in the world. First mined for tin in 1888, making it one of the oldest mine sites in Australia. The spodumene ore is the richest lithium rock known. Expanded massively during the battery boom. Supplies feedstock for much of the world lithium hydroxide output. Also produces tantalum as a byproduct.
